Meaningful narratives

Photography for me is a question of the subject and asking what the artist is trying to tell us. A moment in time that is frozen and to a holt. Almost like a fragment ripped from what is happening now and in the moment. Now my images are staged so it raises more questions as I am inspired by more of Gregory Crewdson's work overall due to the information in the shoot and the surrealness that is introduced in the images. I'm inspired most by the movies I watch, as well TV dramas. This usually inspires the creative and emotional side. In summary, the emotion inspires my work and empowers me to think of new ideas. It makes me think about what new ideas could be introduces or just connecting the images together to tell more an intertwined narrative. My work is about reviewing and refining; testing out new concepts and ideas. I also listen to music to help with the ideas and development because of what sort of stories are developed in your mind or even what the music makes you think about when listening to it. Oh! coffee in the morning helps with smooth jazz and some 1975.
When looking at posting meaningful images on Instagram I love to introduce an interesting idea and narrative to my compositions. To say that there is something meaningful behind them. In my current project, it tells a story of hidden agendas and fear. To do this, I try to make my compositions look meaningful and placing the subjects in areas to do this. With the shoot I am working on at the moment, it brings in more of a intertwined theme, the planning out of a murder. The conclusion of these first stage of these shoots will be clear soon. I will be using it in the stage of three with my first shoot called "Seasons of Fear" coming to a close. I can give some spoilers for the next two shoots so you can begin to understand the narrative that I am trying to tell. These other titles will be "Doom prevention" and "New age".
Talking about my recent shoot
My most recent shoot I try to make the viewer fearful of the subject and what they can or cannot do to the extremes. We dive into the mental state of the subject and who they are. This development of the shoots allowed me to showcase this theme and refined it to the idea of fear. As it has so many concepts it can surround also introducing a hidden agenda for the subject(s) in question. In this shoot I used my step-dad and had taken him down to the park I went to when I was a child also the school. The fear of strangers and everything surrounding this has a view to this side. As a child you are fearful or strangers and told not to speak to them and so this is an emulation of that idea. Danger can be hiding around any corner when you are a child and even my experience of living in Hale overall. To make this shoot successful I used the black and white tool and raw filter using the vignette in order to create a bigger purpose of my composition overall. In future shoots I will be exploring these hidden agendas of a person and the mental state. Using the research to guide my purposes and ranging it from Crewdson’s work overall. To use the techniques to showcase a hidden agenda for the subject. To make a further develop I made the subject look at the viewer to give a bigger impact for the composition
